Which Allianz tariffs do we recommend?

  1. Medium

    GSP70

    with GSUP90, GSUP100 and dental GSZ90

The Plus tariff with both upgrades, so no deductible remains, a single or two-bed room and treatment by the senior consultant in hospital, psychotherapy at 100%, and dental treatment at 100% with dentures and orthodontics at 90%.

  2. Max

    GSB70

    with GSUB90, GSUB100 and dental GSZ90

Everything in the Medium pick, plus doctors' fees above the standard maximum outside hospital, higher limits for glasses, hearing aids and alternative practitioners, and no reduction when you travel outside the EU for treatment.

  3. Expat plan

    InboundMed Best 100

For expats on a temporary residence permit, no deductible, a single or two-bed room and treatment by the senior consultant in hospital, and dental treatment at 100%, dentures at 80% and orthodontics at 100%.

Ownership

Who owns Allianz Private Krankenversicherung?

Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG is a public limited company. All of its shares belong to Allianz Deutschland AG, which in turn belongs entirely to Allianz SE in Munich, the parent of the Allianz Group. The health insurer is therefore part of the Allianz Group and not a mutual insurer. Whatever the legal form, the law sets a minimum share of the surplus that must go back to policyholders.

History

The story of Allianz private health insurance

Today's Allianz health insurer goes back to a company founded in Berlin in 1925. After a merger in 1928, it traded as the Vereinigte Krankenversicherung, later moved its seat to Munich and was renamed Vereinte Krankenversicherung in 1987. In 1996 the Allianz Group took over the Vereinte, and since 2003 the company has carried its present name, Allianz Private Krankenversicherungs-AG. Today it describes itself as the third-largest provider in the German private health insurance market. At the end of 2025, 554,710 people had full cover with Allianz.
