Insurer portals and apps
Member logins and mobile apps for Germany's private health insurers, in one place. If you have just switched and cannot find where to send an invoice, start here.
How private cover works day to day
You pay first, then get reimbursed
Private cover in Germany works on reimbursement (Kostenerstattung). The practice invoices you personally, you settle it, and your insurer pays you back. Hospitals usually bill the insurer directly.
There is no statutory chip card
The electronic health card (eGK) belongs to the public system. Privately insured members normally carry a Klinik-Card for hospital admission instead, plus a digital card inside the app. What you get varies by insurer and tariff.
The app is the main channel
Nearly every insurer now settles claims through an app: photograph the invoice, upload, done. Reimbursement typically lands within days. It is the fastest route by a distance.
The portal is for documents
The web portal is where your policy documents, annual statements and correspondence live. Some insurers run app-only and have no separate member login at all.
Where to log in
Covering the major German private health insurers. Group brands often share one platform, so the login you need may carry a different name than your policy.

Insurers rename and merge their apps fairly often, and a few run more than one. If a link no longer resolves, search your insurer's name in your phone's app store and check the publisher matches the company. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.
Not sure your cover still fits?
If you are privately insured and have never had the tariff reviewed, a free 30-minute call is a good place to start. We go through what you hold and what it costs you.
